How to set up an email account using Microsoft Outlook Express

Note: The pictures below were taken from Outlook Express on Windows XP. If you have Microsoft Outlook or use Windows 2000, the screens may look slightly different.


1. Select "Accounts..." from the "Tools" menu in Outlook Express.

2. A window called "Internet Accounts" pops up, Click on the "Mail" tab.
When you click on the "Mail" tab, you may be presented with a list of any email accounts you already have installed. If you want to delete any of your old accounts, you may do so at this time by clicking first on the account, and then on the "Remove" button.

3. Click on the "Add" button and select "Mail..."

4. Enter your name and click the "Next..." button.

5. Enter the e-mail address provided to you from PogoZone.

6. Make sure the "Incoming mail server" is set to POP3. Then type "mail.pogozone.net" (without the quotes) into the two boxes.

7. Type in the username and password you were given by PogoZone.
If you want the computer to remember your password, make sure "Remember password" is checked. Always make sure "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" is not checked.

8. Click "Finish". Congratulations, your new account is now set up!

9. Close the "Internet Accounts" window if it is still open.

10. You may now check your mail at any time by clicking the "Send/Receive" button.
